Job summary

The City of Salisbury invites applications for an Inclusive Community Programs Project Officer to join our Community Diversity and Inclusion team on a full-time, 12-month contract. You will lead the development and implementation of an inclusion and accessibility audit framework, working across Council and with people with disability and community groups to remove participation barriers.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering projects or programs that improve accessibility, inclusion and community participation.
• Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, analyze information, and drive projects from planning to implementation.
• Commitment to creating inclusive communities and improving outcomes for people with disability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an inclusion and accessibility audit and assessment framework.
• Assess Council programs and environments to identify barriers and opportunities for improvement.
• Analyze findings and develop practical recommendations to strengthen accessibility and inclusion.
• Provide advice and support to staff on inclusive practices.
• Develop training, resources, tools and guidance materials to build capability.
• Support accessible communications, information and resources.
• Engage with people with disability, community groups and stakeholders to inform improvements.
• Monitor and evaluate project outcomes and improvement initiatives.
• Prepare reports, briefings and recommendations for management and Council.
