Job summary

The City of Salisbury is seeking a motivated planning professional to join our Development Services team. You will assess development applications and contribute to planning outcomes that support Salisbury's growth, applying legislation, policy and Council requirements.

Reporting to the Team Leader Planning, you will prepare reports, undertake site inspections and provide planning advice to applicants and stakeholders, helping deliver quality outcomes for the community.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Urban and/or Regional Planning or related discipline.
• Experience in development assessment or planning environment.
• Knowledge of planning legislation, codes and standards.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Current Class C Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Assess development applications in accordance with planning legislation, policies and procedures.
• Prepare reports and recommendations on development applications.
• Providing planning advice to applicants, consultants, community members and internal stakeholders.
• Undertaking site inspections and monitoring compliance with development approvals and legislative requirements.
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support development outcomes across the city.
• Responding to development-related enquiries and providing quality customer service.
• Sharing knowledge and supporting the development of less experienced team members.
• Contributing to projects and initiatives within Development Services.
