Job summary

Wallace International is seeking an experienced Import Export Operator to join our team in Tullamarine, VIC. This full-time role focuses on managing end-to-end import/export operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely movement of goods across international borders.

You will handle customs documentation, liaise with brokers and carriers, and maintain precise records for audits. A strong understanding of INCOTERMS and freight requirements, plus data entry proficiency in management

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Import or Export Operator or in a similar logistics role.
• Proficiency with import/export management systems and data entry
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation handling
• Solid understanding of INCOTERMS, air and sea freight requirements
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Experience with freight forwarding or logistics software platforms (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Process and prepare import and export documentation, including customs declarations and invoices
• Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and shipping companies for clearance
• Verify shipment details against orders and documents for accuracy
• Manage duty and tariff classifications using commodity codes
• Liaise with customers and internal stakeholders to track shipments
• Maintain records of all import/export transactions for audits
• Stay updated with customs regulations and trade requirements
• Resolve discrepancies and delays in a timely manner
• Enter transaction data into import/export management systems and maintain data integrity
