Expeditors International in Melbourne is seeking a logistics professional to manage ocean import and export shipments, coordinating with customers, international agents, and carriers to ensure timely documentation and compliant operations.

You will collaborate with internal teams to track milestones, resolve issues, and provide exceptional service while learning across ocean import and export operations within Expeditors' global freight forwarding network.

Qualifications

• Experience in ocean import and/or export operations within freight forwarding.
• Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple shipments and tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to the wider team.
• Strong attention to detail when processing shipping information and documentation.
• Customer service focus with the ability to resolve enquiries promptly.
• Willingness to learn and develop knowledge across ocean import/export operations.
• Full and unrestricted working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate within a dynamic team environment to ensure smooth processing of ocean import and export shipments.
• Coordinate with customers, international agents, carriers and service providers to arrange transportation.
• Work with Customer Service, Cartage and Accounting to handle shipments and resolve issues.
• Manage and monitor Ocean Import and Export files, ensuring milestones and documentation are up to date.
• Track shipments using internal and external resources, follow up on delays and exceptions.
• Prepare, review and process import/export shipping documentation accurately.
• Utilise workflow monitors to manage daily shipments and priorities.
• Adhere to SOPs and communicate changes under supervisor guidance.
• Maintain timely communication with customers, overseas offices, agents, carriers and service providers.
• Process and reconcile service provider invoices and charges to support shipment flow.
• Provide timely shipment updates and respond to customer inquiries, ensuring high service levels.
• Participate in team meetings, training, and performance reviews.
