Job summary

St Vincent de Paul Society NSW in Armidale seeks an Identified Case Worker to provide compassionate, non-judgemental support from first contact. You will build trusted relationships, conduct case management and empower clients toward healthier outcomes within a culturally safe framework.

The role requires Aboriginal identification under NSW law; flexible working arrangements apply, with opportunities for group facilitation and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience working directly with people in a client-facing or support-focused role.
• Comfortable and willing to facilitate groups, with training provided.
• Strong communication, engagement and relationship-building skills.
• A warm, empathetic and non-judgemental approach.
• The ability to maintain client privacy and confidentiality.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• A commitment to culturally safe and respectful practice.

Responsibilities

• Support the intake process and engage with clients accessing the service.
• Build warm, respectful and trusting relationships with clients.
• Provide case management and individual psychosocial support in line with best practice and the Society's AOD Model of Care.
• Support clients throughout their recovery journey and connection with appropriate services.
• Facilitate group programs and activities, or undertake training to develop group facilitation skills.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive client outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
• Engage with families and significant others where appropriate.
• Participate in assessments, case reviews and ongoing support planning.
• Maintain a strong commitment to client privacy, confidentiality and professional practice.
