Swiss Re is seeking a Casualty Claims Specialist to join the ANZ Claims team in a hybrid Sydney role. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of casualty claims end-to-end, assess coverage and liability, and develop tailored strategies while liaising with brokers, insureds and external counsel.

The role suits a lawyer with 3–4 years’ post-qualification experience in insurance or a claims professional with 5 years’ casualty claims expertise.

Formación

• Law degree or equivalent qualification with 3+ years PQE, or 3–5 years’ casualty/insurance claims experience.
• Ability to interpret complex policy wordings and legal issues.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Sound understanding of negligence, liability and damages principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously.

Responsabilidades

• Independently manage a portfolio of Casualty claims from notification to resolution.
• Assess coverage, liability, quantum and reserving requirements; develop claim strategies.
• Monitor claim developments and ensure timely progression; maintain accurate records and reporting.
• Engage with brokers, insureds, underwriters and external counsel; participate in settlement discussions.
• Leverage data, analytics and AI tools to support decision-making and portfolio insights.
