Job summary

Ambient Services Group is seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to join the Construction Division, based in Hillsdale, Sydney. You will lead multiple HVAC fitout projects from award through commissioning and handover, coordinating internal teams and external subcontractors to meet scope, budget, and schedule.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience delivering commercial HVAC projects valued between $1M and $7M, with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, and a solid

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing commercial HVAC projects.
• Proven track record delivering projects valued between $1M and $7M.
• Strong understanding of commercial fitout, refurbishment and building services.

Responsibilities

• Managing multiple HVAC fitout projects from award through to completion, commissioning, and handover.
• Developing and maintaining project programmes, budgets, procurement schedules, and resource plans.
• Coordinating internal engineering, drafting, procurement, site management, and commissioning teams.
• Managing subcontractors, suppliers, and labour resources to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
• Reviewing design documentation and identifying value engineering, buildability, and risk mitigation opportunities.
• Preparing and administering purchase orders, subcontract agreements, variations, progress claims, and project forecasts.
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, builders, and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitoring project financial performance, including cost control, forecasting, cash flow, and profitability.
• Ensuring compliance with all WHS requirements, company procedures, and relevant Australian Standards.
• Chairing project meetings and providing regular progress reports to senior management.
• Overseeing commissioning, defect management, and final project close-out activities.
• Contributing to business growth through repeat business opportunities and maintaining exceptional client service standards.

Due to ongoing company growth, we are seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to join our Construction Division, based in Hillsdale.

Job tasks and responsibilities

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing commercial HVAC projects.
• Proven experience delivering projects valued between $1M and $7M.
• Strong understanding of commercial fitout, refurbishment, and building services projects.
• Excellent commercial acumen with experience managing project budgets, forecasts, and variations.
• Sound knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, commissioning, and construction methodologies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using project management platforms such as Simpro, Procore, Aconex, or similar.
• Mechanical Engineering qualifications or relevant trade background highly regarded.
