Job summary

SCEE Electrical is seeking passionate and dedicated HSE Advisors to join our Newcastle team on a major BESS construction project. You will promote health, safety and environmental compliance across diverse sites.

The role requires a tertiary OH&S qualification, proven HSE experience in heavy construction or infrastructure, and strong knowledge of regulations. You will conduct inspections, training and incident investigations while liaising with clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• Proven experience as an HSE Advisor, preferably in heavy construction, mining, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, standards, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs across project sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure regulatory and company standards.
• Provide HSE training and support to all levels of staff and contractors.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders on HSE matters.
• Prepare and maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation.
• Foster a culture of safety and environmental awareness across all project sites.

About the Role
