Job summary

SCEE Electrical in Newcastle is seeking a passionate HSE Advisor to promote health, safety and environmental compliance across our major BESS construction projects.

You will lead policy implementation, training, and incident investigations while liaising with clients and regulators. A tertiary OH&S qualification and strong communication skills are required for this fast-paced role.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• Proven experience as an HSE Advisor in heavy construction, mining, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, standards, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs across project sites.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure regulatory and company compliance.
• Provide HSE training and support to staff and contractors.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses and implement corrective actions.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies and stakeholders on HSE matters.
• Prepare and maintain accurate HSE records and reports.
• Foster a culture of safety and environmental awareness across sites.

About the Role

We are seeking passionate and dedicated HSE Advisors to join our team in Newcastle on a major BESS construction project. As an HSE Advisor at SCEE Electrical, you will play a crucial role in promoting and ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance across our diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs across various project sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
• Provide HSE training and support to all levels of staff and contractors.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders on HSE matters.
• Prepare and maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation.
• Foster a culture of safety and environmental awareness across all project sites.

Qualifications and Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• Proven experience as an HSE Advisor, preferably in the heavy construction, mining, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors.
