Job summary

SCEE Electrical are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to join our Newcastle team on a large scale BESS project. You will coordinate scope, crews and oversee completion of electrical works with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Applicants must have 5+ years in heavy construction as an Electrical Superintendent, NSW electrical licence, white card and strong leadership, negotiation and reporting skills. NSW driver’s licence required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Electrical Superintendent in heavy construction.
• Hold NSW electrical licence and White Card.
• Strong leadership, negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
• Understand Australian Standards, WHS and environmental issues.
• Excellent written and spoken communication; able to read technical diagrams and reports.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and control construction activities to meet budget, time and quality targets.
• Maintain records of site activities, events and delays.
• Audit quality of work, procedures, and installation compliance.
• Promote and follow HSE policies; ensure a safe workplace.
• Lead tool box talks, pre-start meetings and site audits as required.

Electrical Superintendent | Large Scale BESS Project

About the Role

SCEE Electrical are looking for experienced Electrical Superintendents to join our team in Newcastle working on a large scale BESS project. As an Electrical Superintendent with us you will be responsible for coordinating and reviewing the work scope and crews, as well as being responsible and for the completion electrical works and the health and safety of all persons within their team.

In addition, some of your key tasks will include;

• Manage the works and coordinate and control construction related activities in order to achieve the project budget, time and quality objectives.
• Maintain accurate records of site activities, events and delays.
• Monitor and audit quality of work, procedures, installation of material and equipment for quality control compliance.
• Actively promote and adhere to all SCEE HSE policies and procedures, ensuring a safe workplace at all times for yourself and your colleagues.
• Participate in site pre start meetings and tool box talks as required.
• Ensure Project Works are completed safely and in compliance with all relevant standards, SCEE documentation, Client and Project policies and procedures.
• Comply and support company Quality Management systems, processes and procedures. Participate in audits, both internal and external as required.
• Ensure the works are completed in compliance with SCEE, Client and Project Quality policies and procedures.
• Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

About You

To be successful in this position you will have at least 5 years’ experience as an Electrical Superintendent within the heavy construction industry and hold your NSW electrical licence. You will have well developed leadership skills as well as strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.

You will also be able to demonstrate the following:

• A strong understanding and awareness of Australian Standards, project implementation, constructability, WHS and environmental and community issues.
• A high level of commitment to safety.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
• Strong organisational skills and well-developed numeracy and analytical skills.
• Be able to read and interpret technical diagrams, drawings and specifications, prepare reports
• Be able to direct and coordinate a range of people to meet project objectives
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a high functioning team.
• You must hold a white Card and valid driver’s licence
