Job summary

Miller Leith is seeking an experienced Safety Manager for a major logistics site across Australia. You will own health, safety and wellbeing activities, partner with leaders and frontline teams to drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance and embed a strong safety-first culture.

This hands-on role suits a proactive professional comfortable in fast-paced operations, with responsibilities including audits, incident investigations, training, and contractor safety, reporting on safety metrics

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Safety Manager, HSE Manager or Senior Safety Advisor.
• Experience in logistics, warehousing, transport or manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and safety systems.
• Proven record leading safety programs and cultural change.

Responsibilities

• Lead all health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across the site.
• Provide expert advice to leaders, supervisors and employees on WHS.
• Drive continuous improvement of safety systems, policies and procedures.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and risk assessments to mitigate hazards.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

An opportunity exists for an experienced Safety Manager to join the team on an initial six-month assignment.

The Role

As Safety Manager, you will take ownership of all health, safety and wellbeing activities for a major logistics site. You will partner closely with operational leaders and frontline teams to drive continuous improvement, support compliance, and embed a strong safety-first culture across the facility.

This is a hands‑on role suited to an experienced safety professional who is confident working in a fast‑paced operational environment and influencing stakeholders at all levels.

• Lead all health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across the site.

• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and safety management systems.
• Proven experience leading safety programs and driving cultural change.
• Strong incident investigation, risk management and hazard identification capabilities.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to influence, coach and support leaders at all levels of the organisation.
• Relevant qualification in Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline.
• ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training highly regarded.
