Job summary

Engineering Trades Australia is partnering with an established civil construction and heavy operations business to recruit an experienced Safety Advisor for a permanent position based in Logan, Queensland. The role reports to the HR & Safety Manager and provides practical safety guidance across head office and Brisbane project sites.

Main duties include site inspections, hazard identifications, SWMS/JSAs reviews, incident investigations, inductions, toolbox talks, and audits, with a focus on

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience in a workplace safety role.
• Civil construction experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in a small-to-medium business environment.
• Current White Card is required.
• Current unrestricted Queensland Driver Licence is required.
• Strong knowledge of Queensland WHS legislation.
• Experience with inspections, audits and risk assessments.
• Experience reviewing SWMS and JSAs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections, audits and safety observations.
• Complete hazard identification and risk assessments.
• Review SWMS, JSAs and safety documentation.
• Investigate incidents, injuries and near misses.
• Identify root causes and monitor corrective actions.
• Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and safety training.
• Support internal and external compliance audits.
• Maintain HSEQ records, registers and reports.
• Support environmental and quality requirements.
• Promote a proactive Zero Harm safety culture.

Engineering Trades Australia is partnering with an established civil construction and heavy operations business to recruit an experienced Safety Advisor for a permanent position based in Logan. Supporting operations across civil construction, plant and equipment, heavy haulage and associated projects, this is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with supervisors, tradespeople and operational teams. The role reporting to the HR & Safety Manager, you will provide practical safety advice across the head office and Brisbane project sites.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting site inspections, audits and safety observations
• Completing hazard identification and risk assessments
• Reviewing SWMS, JSAs and safety documentation
• Investigating incidents, injuries and near misses
• Identifying root causes and monitoring corrective actions
• Delivering inductions, toolbox talks and safety training
• Supporting internal and external compliance audits
• Maintaining accurate HSEQ records, registers and reports
• Supporting environmental and quality requirements
• Promoting a proactive Zero Harm safety culture

About you

• Minimum five years' experience in a workplace safety role
• Civil construction experience strongly preferred
• Experience within a small-to-medium business environment
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent
• Current White Card
• Current unrestricted Queensland Driver Licence
