Job summary

Golding Contractors in Queensland is seeking an experienced Safety, Health and Environmental Advisor to join our Civil team on a casual employment arrangement. This hands-on, site-based role focuses on promoting a strong safety culture across civil infrastructure projects.

You will work closely with project teams to provide practical guidance, conduct risk assessments, lead safety observations and toolbox talks, and help ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
• Experience in civil construction or infrastructure safety roles.
• Experience facilitating risk assessments and high-risk activities.

Golding currently seeks an experienced Safety, Health and Environmental Advisor to join our Civil team on a casual employment arrangement, supporting a range of civil infrastructure projects

Golding is a successful mining, urban and civil infrastructure project management services business with projects and operations across Queensland and South Australia. We're on the lookout for an experienced Safety, Health and Environmental Advisor to join our team on a casual employment arrangement. This role will focus on short to midterm site coverage supporting a range of civil infrastructure projects across Queensland. This is a hands-on, site-based role where you'll work closely with project teams to promote a strong safety culture, provide practical guidance, and help ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently.

This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys being out in the field, building relationships with crews and supervisors, and taking a proactive approach to risk management. Experience working on TMR (Transport and Main Roads) projects will be highly regarded.

Flights, camp accommodation, meals will be provided for non-local projects. Rosters may vary from project to project.

What You'll Be Doing

• Partner with project teams to identify, assess and manage workplace risks across multiple civil construction projects.
• Conduct site inspections, field leadership interactions, and safety observations to support frontline teams.
• Facilitate risk assessments and ensure critical controls are implemented and maintained.
• Lead and support incident investigations, including ICAM investigations where required.
• Assist with the development and implementation of project-specific safety initiatives and monitoring programs.
• Deliver practical safety advice during toolbox talks, pre-start meetings, and project planning activities.
• Monitor compliance with company, client and legislative safety requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety performance and workforce wellbeing.
• Build strong working relationships with employees, contractors, clients and stakeholders to promote positive safety outcomes.

About You

To be successful, you'll be a confident communicator who can engage with people at all levels and influence positive safety behaviours on site.

You'll ideally bring:

• Qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within civil construction, roads, infrastructure, bulk earthworks, or a similar industry.
• Experience facilitating risk assessments and managing safety on high-risk construction activities.
