Job summary

WorkPac is seeking a reliable asphalt labourer to assist crews on road construction and maintenance projects. You will rake, level, and shovel asphalt, support plant operators, and help keep worksites clean and safe.

Eligible candidates will have a Construction White Card; HR Driver's Licence and plant tickets are advantageous. Expect physical outdoor work with travel across the ACT and South Coast region, contributing to a positive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in asphalt, civil, or road construction is preferred.
• Construction White Card is essential.
• HR Driver's Licence is advantageous.
• Plant tickets such as Roller or Skid Steer are advantageous.
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• Assist asphalt crews with road construction and maintenance.
• Rake, level, and shovel asphalt during paving.
• Support plant operators and crews.
• Maintain site housekeeping and safety.
• Assist with traffic control and safe work zones.
• Load/unload tools and materials.
• Travel and work across ACT and South Coast region as required.

Job description

Our client is one of Australia and New Zealand's leading infrastructure and road services providers, delivering major transport, civil construction, and road maintenance projects.

What you will be doing:

Assisting asphalt crews with road construction and maintenance projects

Raking, levelling, and shovelling asphalt during paving operations

Supporting plant operators and working alongside experienced asphalt crews

Performing general labouring and site housekeeping duties

Assisting with traffic control and maintaining safe work zones

Loading, unloading, and handling tools, equipment, and materials

Following site safety procedures and contributing to a positive team environment

What you will need:

Previous experience in asphalt, civil, or road construction (highly regarded)

Construction White Card (essential)

Current HR Driver's Licence (advantageous)

Relevant plant tickets such as Roller, Skid Steer, or similar (advantageous)

Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor conditions

Reliable transport and willingness to travel across the ACT and South Coast region
