Job summary

WorkPac is seeking an experienced HC truck driver to support spray seal, bitumen spraying and road construction in the Newcastle area. You will operate HC vehicles, transport materials and assist with on-site spray seals while adhering to safety and traffic management rules.

Role involves outdoor work in varying weather, flexibility for overtime, weekends and potential travel or overnight stays. A valid HC licence and related certifications are essential.

Qualifications

• HR or HC Licence is essential.
• Dangerous Goods Licence or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in truck driving, ideally in spray seal/bitumen or road construction environments.
• Construction Induction (White) Card.
• Strong commitment to safety, reliability and teamwork.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, nights, and travel.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic to support crew operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate HC vehicles to support spray seal, bitumen spraying and road construction activities.
• Transport materials, equipment and bitumen to and from worksites safely and efficiently.
• Assist with spray seal and asphalt operations on site.
• Conduct daily pre-start checks and basic maintenance; keep vehicles safe and roadworthy.
• Work closely with crew to complete jobs safely, on time and to quality standards.
• Adhere to WHS, environmental and traffic management requirements.
• Work outdoors in varying weather across regional and metro locations.
• Be flexible to overtime, weekends, night shifts, and travel or stay away when required.

Job description

Our client is a leading provider of integrated road construction, surfacing and maintenance solutions across Australia. With a strong reputation for safety, innovation and delivery excellence, involved in major infrastructure projects ranging from highways and arterial roads to local council and commercial works.

Roster:

Monday to Friday 7am – 4pm (some night work)

What you will be doing:

Operating HC vehicles to support spray seal, bitumen spraying and road construction activities

Transporting materials, equipment and bitumen to and from worksites safely and efficiently

Assisting with spray seal and asphalt operations as required on site

Conducting daily pre–start checks, basic maintenance and ensuring vehicles are kept in a safe, roadworthy condition

Working closely with crew members to ensure jobs are completed safely, on time and to quality standards

Adhering to all WHS, environmental and traffic management requirements

Working outdoors in varying weather conditions across regional and metro locations

Being flexible to work overtime, weekends, night shifts, and travel or stay away from home when required

What you will need:

HR or HC Licence (essential)
