Job summary

Lithgow City Council is seeking a Human Resources Officer on a temporary term up to 2 years. You will deliver generalist HR services across employee relations, learning and development, HR systems, policy and procedures, performance management, recruitment and selection, and HR projects to support council goals.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in HR information systems and administration.
• Certificate III in Business Administration or HR-related field.
• Experience coordinating and facilitating training programs and events.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Experience in recruitment and selection processes.
• Commitment to ongoing capacity building in Human Resources.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office systems.
• Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles.
• Demonstrated honesty and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Undertake the full range of generalist HR services including relations, learning and development, systems, policies and performance management.
• Coordinate recruitment and selection, interviews, onboarding and offboarding.
• Provide payroll notifications for new employees and changes to payroll records.
• Enrol and update staff on the online learning platform; manage training events.
• Coordinate training requests and maintain the training plan.
• Register correspondence in the ECM system and ensure policy compliance.
• Maintain currency of HR knowledge and legal practice in NSW.
• Assist with HR projects and support council staff to meet goals.
