Job summary

Lithgow City Council is seeking a Human Resources Officer to join the team on a temporary term up to 2 years. You will deliver a full range of HR services including employee relations, learning and development, HR systems, policy updates, performance management, and recruitment to support the organisation's goals.

Reporting to the HR Advisor, you will coordinate recruitment, payroll notifications, onboarding/offboarding, training coordination, and HR system enhancements while ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Experience with HR information administration and records.
• Certificate III in Business Administration or HR-related field.
• Experience coordinating and facilitating training programs and events.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Experience in recruitment and selection processes.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in HR.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Commitment to Work Health and Safety principles.
• Commitment to honesty and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment and selection, advertise positions, interview scheduling, onboarding and offboarding.
• Provide payroll notifications for new employees, terminations, and salary changes.
• Onboard and update staff on the learning platform in line with probation.
• Maintain the Learning and Development training plan and arrange training requests.
• Coordinate tertiary and corporate training requests.
• Log correspondence into the ECM system in line with protocols.
• Verify and update the Working with Children Register.
• Develop and implement HR Systems per policy and legislation.
• Keep up to date with HR-related legislation and NSW codes.
