Job summary

LagardèreAWPL is seeking an HR Manager in Australia to act as a strategic partner to multiple business units and lead two HR Business Partners. You will coach senior leaders, drive a high-performance culture, and align people strategies with business outcomes across a multi-site environment.

You will lead talent development, succession planning, and complex employee relations while guiding workforce planning and change initiatives. Flexible working and leadership development are included.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of progressive HR business partnering experience, including partnering senior and executive leaders in a complex, multi-site environment and line management of HRBPs.
• Ability to coach and influence senior leaders and lead an HRBP team.
• Strong generalist HR background with depth in employee relations and employment compliance across Australia.

• Embed a leader-led operating rhythm to improve manager effectiveness and engagement.

The Role:

The HR Manager is the strategic partner to a portfolio of business units and their leaders, and the line manager of two HR Business Partners.
The role goes beyond generalist partnering, it exists to coach, challenge and build the capability of senior and executive leaders so they own their people outcomes.
The HR Manager brings deep HR expertise, commercial judgement and the personal credibility to operate as a trusted advisor at the senior leadership table, while leading, coaching and setting the standard for the HRBP team.

What You’ll Do:

• Coach & Partner the Senior Leadership Team: Partner with senior and executive leaders to build leadership capability, accountability and confidence in managing people decisions, while coaching through complex people, performance, talent and organisational challenges.
• Embed the Leader-Led Operating Rhythm: Drive a leader-led, high-performance culture by embedding consistent people practices, leadership routines, organisational values and accountability measures that improve manager effectiveness and employee engagement.
• Strategic HR Partnering, Employee Relations & Compliance: Align people strategies with business priorities, providing expert guidance on workforce planning, organisational change, employee relations, investigations and employment legislation.
• Talent, Capability & Succession: Lead talent and succession planning initiatives, strengthening leadership capability, developing future talent pipelines and promoting internal mobility through structured development and career progression programs.
• Hiring & Workforce: Coach leaders to apply structured hiring processes along with the TA Team, and guide strategic workforce-mix decisions.
• Manage the AUS HRBP Team: Lead, mentor and develop the AUS HRBP team, building strategic partnering capability, driving performance and serving as the senior escalation point for complex people and organisational matters.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5-8 years' progressive HR business partnering experience, including partnering senior and executive leaders in a complex, multi-site environment, and line management of HR Business Partners or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and influence senior leaders - building their people-leadership capability, not just advising them - and to lead, mentor and lift the capability of an HRBP team.
• Strong generalist HR background with depth in employee relations and employment compliance across Australia.
• Experience leading talent reviews, succession planning, performance calibration and organisational change.
