LagardèreAWPL is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to own end-to-end New Zealand payroll from our Sydney base.

You will resolve payroll issues, manage reconciliations, and ensure compliance with NZ regulations while providing Australian payroll coverage during leave. Collaborate across UKG and HR systems in a busy retail environment, delivering accurate, timely payroll with a strong customer-service mindset.

• Strong end-to-end NZ payroll experience.
• Knowledge of NZ payroll legislation, including the Holidays Act.
• Experience with PAYE, KiwiSaver, ACC, leave, holiday pay and terminations.
• Australian payroll experience, ideally within retail and/or multiple Modern Awards.
• Strong systems capability, ideally including UKG.
• Confident Excel skills (pivots and vlookups).
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and a customer-service mindset.
• Confidence working independently and taking ownership of payroll issues through to resolution.

We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist who is confident independently managing New Zealand payroll from end to end and navigating the complexities that come with it.

You’ll take ownership of the NZ payroll, investigate and resolve payroll issues, manage reconciliations and statutory requirements, including ACC-related payroll requirements, and ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. You’ll also provide backup for Australian payroll during periods of leave.
