Job summary

CatholicCare NT in Tennant Creek, NT is hiring a Housing Support Case Worker to provide intensive case management and education to participants of the Housing Support program. You will assist with transitions in public housing, coordinate referrals, and develop proactive case plans with local networks.

The role emphasizes culturally competent practice, engagement with Indigenous communities, and strong advocacy to help clients access stable housing and services in the Barkly region.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience and certificate to undertake the range of support services required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with, and manage complex situations involving homelessness, poverty, mental health, family violence, alcohol and other drug misuse.
• Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people.
• Demonstrated ability to advocate for clients and work effectively with stakeholders through meetings, letters of advocacy /support and case note writing.
• Valid Drivers licence (C Class).

Responsibilities

• Coordinating support to people who need to access immediate housing as well as those transitioning out of public housing.
• Assisting individuals, families and communities through prioritising referrals.
• Developing case plans and strategies to address challenges.
• Participating and collaborating in relevant networks with key stakeholders.
• Writing accurate case notes providing reports and feedback.
