Job summary

CatholicCare NT in Tennant Creek, NT is hiring a Housing Support Case Worker to provide intensive case management and education to participants of the Housing Support program. You will assist with transitions in public housing, coordinate referrals, and develop proactive case plans with local networks.

The role emphasizes culturally competent practice, engagement with Indigenous communities, and strong advocacy to help clients access stable housing and services in the Barkly region.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience and certificate to undertake the range of support services required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with, and manage complex situations involving homelessness, poverty, mental health, family violence, alcohol and other drug misuse.
• Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people.
• Demonstrated ability to advocate for clients and work effectively with stakeholders through meetings, letters of advocacy /support and case note writing.
• Valid Drivers licence (C Class).

About The Housing Support Program

CatholicCare NT (CCNT) implements a case management and early intervention approach to break the cycle of homelessness through empowering clients to effectively problem solve and manage their accommodation and regain control of their circumstances including; housing, financial, and social and community issues that are placing them at risk of homelessness.

About The Role – What You’ll Be Doing

The Housing Support Case Worker works as part of our small team and provides support according to need through intensive case management, education and support to participants of CCNT’s Housing Support program and focusses on a stepped model of care in core areas, supporting participants in Transitional Housing and those in need of Tenancy Support in Public Housing.

You will be
