Job summary

Queensland Government's Housing and Public Works seeks a Housing Officer in Rockhampton to deliver frontline services to Queenslanders in housing need. You will assess housing options, assist with bond loans and rental grants, and help customers develop plans for stable housing.

You will manage tenancy arrangements, engage with community partners, conduct home visits and property inspections, and maintain accurate records using Microsoft tools. A Class C Driver's License is required.

Qualifications

• Current Class C Driver's Licence.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse housing customers.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customers, interview clients, refer to support services, assess housing, bond loans and rental grants.
• Manage tenancy arrangements, allocations and vacancies; liaise with community and other providers; ensure compliance.
• Conduct home visits, resolve tenancy disputes and complaints, and manage property maintenance and inspections.
• Monitor arrears, rent assessments, deductions and refunds; manage sundry debts and collections.
• Use Microsoft tools and IT systems to maintain accurate customer and property records.
• Support WHS practices and ensure policies are applied in day-to-day operations.
