Job summary

Mission Australia Housing is seeking an Asset Officer to ensure social and affordable housing properties are safe, well maintained, and meet tenant needs. You will coordinate maintenance requests, inspect properties, and manage contractor performance to deliver high-quality outcomes.

You’ll work closely with residents, contractors, and internal housing teams in a role that blends customer service, administration, and site-based inspections, contributing to meaningful housing solutions for

Qualifications

• Experience in property maintenance, facilities, housing, asset management, or a similar coordination role.
• Ability to identify, prioritise maintenance issues and coordinate timely resolutions.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with tenants, contractors and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritise tenant maintenance requests, ensuring timely action.
• Act as liaison between tenants, contractors and internal teams, providing professional service.
• Monitor and manage maintenance work orders from start to finish.
• Conduct property inspections and assess completed works for defects and compliance.
• Scope maintenance works and maintain asset records and documentation.
• Review contractor invoices and documentation for compliance and value.
• Track vacant properties and maintenance schedules to support turnaround times.
• Build relationships with tenants, contractors and stakeholders to support housing outcomes.
