Job summary

Sheraton in Port Douglas is seeking a part-time Housekeeping Supervisor to lead the housekeeping team at 168-190 Port Douglas Road, Port Douglas. You will supervise, train, and coordinate staff, ensuring adherence to standards and safety while maintaining supply levels and inventory control.

The role focuses on effective team leadership, performance reviews, and representing the department in the absence of managers, within a renowned Marriott International portfolio that values guest experience

• Represent housekeeping in absence of managers.
• Ensure work area is kept clean.
• Report maintenance issues and safety concerns.
• Attend work on time per rostered shift.

Primary Duties

• Responsibility for the supervision, training and co-ordination of housekeeping staff.
• Interview and selection of housekeeping associates.
• Training and coaching of associates and assist in their development.
• Ensure that housekeeping associates comply with hotel uniform and grooming standards.
• Initiate and perform counselling, disciplinary action and commendations as necessary.
• Maintain housekeeping supplies at par levels.
• Conduct associate performance reviews.
• Purchase departmental amenity and general operating supplies.
• The Supervisor may be required to represent the housekeeping department in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager and Resort Operations Manager.
• Ensure that your work area is always kept clean.
• Show due care of all equipment, report maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Report and/or take action on any equipment breakdown or safety issue relevant to your work area.
• To attend work on time, ensuring that you are at your workstation in line with your rostered shift requirement.
