Merivale is seeking a Hotel Team Leader for The Whale in Narooma on a full-time basis. You will lead daily hotel operations, support your team and ensure standout guest experiences on the NSW South Coast.

Join a family-owned hospitality group and mentor colleagues across departments, manage rosters, front desk duties, safety, and service standards while driving continuous improvement and staff development.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year in a hotel supervisory or team leadership role.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to organise workloads and support a team.
• Passion for hospitality and delivering personalised guest service.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve problems calmly.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety and hotel operating standards.
• Collaborative approach with willingness to learn, teach and develop others.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating daily hotel activities, determining staffing requirements and allocating duties to team members.
• Supporting rosters, maintaining attendance records and coordinating shift coverage.
• Monitoring guest arrivals, departures and room allocations, and assisting with front office and reception duties.
• Handling guest enquiries and resolving concerns professionally, acting as an escalation point for service issues.
• Working with managers and other departments to coordinate priorities and deliver a seamless guest experience.
• Overseeing team performance and maintaining hotel service standards, policies and procedures.
• Supporting the onboarding, training and development of team members.
• Addressing employee concerns and helping resolve workplace grievances, escalating matters where required.
• Explaining and enforcing workplace health and safety requirements, security procedures and incident reporting processes.
• Maintaining accurate operational records and shift handovers, and recommending improvements to service and efficiency.

We are looking for a talented Hotel Team Leader to join The Whale in Narooma on a full-time basis.
