Job description

Whitton Malt House is an agritourism and hospitality destination in the heart of the Riverina. We run a restaurant and bar, function centre, café, cellar door, gift shop, and entertainment facilities, along with villa and caravan park accommodation.

About the role

We're looking for an organised, practical hospitality operator to coordinate the day-to-day running of our venue. Reporting to the General Manager and working across all our teams, you'll take the operating requirements for our venue and make them happen: the stock, the people, the accommodation and the follow-through.

We're a regional destination venue that relies on looking forward. This role suits someone who thinks ahead, has attention to detail, communicates well, and enjoys seeing a plan come together on the day.

What you'll do
  • Turn operating and event plans into stock, staffing and supplier arrangements
  • Coordinate and direct staff across teams to deliver services and events
  • Monitor service standards and quality, and resolve issues on the day
  • Order stock to lead times, receive and reconcile deliveries, and monitor levels
  • Build rosters to service needs and budget
  • Plan and coordinate accommodation requirements with other teams, including bookings and changes
  • Participate in and lead selection of staff, inductions and training
  • Keep the Executive Chef, supervisors, GM and Events team informed, and feedback after key operations
  • Support liquor licensing, RSA, food safety and WHS compliance
  • Provide general administration, reservations and reception support
Skills and experience
  • 3+ years' experience in hospitality operations, or in a comparable operations or coordination role
  • Experience in a role coordinating multiple priorities concurrently, in sometimes complex situations
  • A Diploma or higher in hospitality management or a related field with relevant experience well regarded
  • Experience in stock control, purchasing and rostering
  • Strong organisation and forward planning, with attention to detail
  • Confident with POS, booking and rostering systems and Excel
  • Clear, professional communication with guests, suppliers and teams
  • Current NSW RSA (or the ability to obtain one)
  • Availability across weekends, evenings and events as rostered

Hospitality experience, particularly weddings and functions, regional venues, or RMS, H&L, NowBookIt or Tanda, will be highly regarded.

What we offer
  • Salary of $70,000 to $90,000 plus super, depending on experience
  • A full-time role with genuine variety
  • The chance to shape how a growing venue operates
  • A close-knit team in a beautiful regional setting
