Job summary

Binna Burra Lodge is seeking an experienced Guest Service Attendant for Reception and Reservations as part of its exciting new lodge opening. The role covers both front desk and bookings, delivering warm hospitality to guests from enquiry through to departure.

Ideal candidates will have proven reception/front office experience in hotels or resorts, strong customer service skills, and familiarity with hotel reservation systems (NewBook preferred). Weekend rosters apply.

Qualifications

  • Previous Reception, Reservations or Front Office experience – essential.
  • Exceptional customer service and guest-focused mindset.
  • Experience with hotel reservation systems; NewBook experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
  • Ability to work across a roster including weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Provide warm, professional guest service from check-in to departure.
  • Manage guest check-ins, check-outs and reservations.
  • Respond to telephone, email and online enquiries.
  • Provide information on accommodation, dining, activities and experiences.
  • Process payments and maintain guest accounts.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, F&B, Maintenance for seamless service.

With our new Lodge, accommodation and dining facilities opening, this is a fantastic opportunity to join one of Queensland's most iconic nature-based tourism destinations at a particularly exciting time in our history.

As one of the first points of contact for our guests, you'll play an important role in creating a warm and memorable Binna Burra experience – from the initial reservation enquiry through to arrival, their stay with us and departure.

This is a hands‑on guest service role covering both Reception and Reservations, so previous experience within a hotel, resort or accommodation environment is essential.

What you'll be doing
  • Providing a warm, professional and welcoming experience for our guests.

  • Managing guest check-ins, check-outs and accommodation reservations.

  • Responding to telephone, email and online booking enquiries.

  • Providing guests with information about accommodation, dining, activities and experiences available at Binna Burra.

  • Processing payments and maintaining accurate guest accounts and reservation records.

  • Managing room availability, booking changes, cancellations and special guest requirements.

  • Liaising with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance and other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.

  • Responding professionally to guest requests, feedback and concerns.

  • Identifying opportunities to promote accommodation, dining and other Binna Burra experiences.

  • Supporting the Front Office and Reservations team with general administrative and operational duties.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality and understands how important those first and last interactions can be to a guest's overall experience.

You'll bring:

  • Previous Reception, Reservations or Front Office experience within a hotel, resort or accommodation business – essential.

  • Exceptional customer service skills and a genuine passion for creating memorable guest experiences.

  • Experience using hotel reservation or Property Management Systems – previous NewBook experience will be highly regarded.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate reservations and guest information.

  • Confidence communicating with guests by telephone, email and face‑to‑face.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • A positive, professional and solutions‑focused approach.

  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider resort team.

  • Flexibility to work across a hospitality roster including weekends and public holidays.

Location & availability

Binna Burra is approximately 35 minutes' drive from Nerang or Canungra and approximately 45 minutes from the Gold Coast.

Own reliable transport is essential. Free onsite parking is provided; however, staff accommodation is not available.

As a seven-day hospitality operation, applicants must be available to work a flexible roster which may include weekends and public holidays.
