Job summary

Minor Hotels (Australasia) is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for Avani Cypress Lakes Resort in Australia. You will coordinate and carry out maintenance across the property, leading a small team, and ensuring safety and operational standards are met.

The role emphasises preventive maintenance, hands-on repairs, and close collaboration with the Hotel Manager to develop the Maintenance team and manage contractor interactions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance or facilities experience, hotel setting preferred.
• Experience supervising or supporting a maintenance team.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
• Relevant trade or building qualification highly regarded.
• Experience liaising with Contractors.
• Sound MS Office skills (Excel/Word).
• A passion for delivering proactive service.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading and executing the preventative maintenance program to ensure optimal property performance.
• Assist in supervising a team of two Maintenance Officers
• Provide hands-on support by performing repairs and maintenance as required across the property.
• Supervise and support key service areas including electrical, mechanical, pest control, cleaning, fire protection, security control systems, hydraulic services, and approved contractor works.
• Always ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) best practices.
• Assist with stock control and supplier coordination to maintain efficient operations.
• Support in preparing quotes and scheduling maintenance tasks, including minor Capex works.
• Work closely with the Hotel Manager to support the recruitment and development of the Maintenance team.
