Avani Cypress Lakes Resort in New South Wales is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team and coordinate across the property. You will oversee preventative maintenance, repairs, and service delivery while ensuring WHS compliance and high standards of guest experience.

The role requires hands-on technical skills, strong communication, and the ability to work with contractors.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in hotel or similar environment.
• Experience supervising or supporting a maintenance team.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
• Trade or building qualification is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute preventative maintenance to ensure optimal property performance.
• Supervise a team of two Maintenance Officers and provide hands-on support as needed.
• Oversee service areas including electrical, mechanical, pest control, cleaning, fire protection, security, hydraulics and contractor works.
• Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) practices.
• Assist with stock control, supplier coordination and scheduling of maintenance tasks.
• Support recruitment and development of the maintenance team in cooperation with Hotel Manager.

Job Description

Avani Cypress Lakes Resort are looking for an experienced and reliable Maintenance Supervisor to support our Maintenance department on a full-time basis.

In this role, the successful candidate will assist in coordinating and carrying out all maintenance requirements across the property.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Assist in leading and executing the preventative maintenance program to ensure optimal property performance.
• Assist in supervising a team of two Maintenance Officers
• Provide hands-on support by performing repairs and maintenance as required across the property.
• Supervise and support key service areas including, but not limited to, electrical, mechanical, pest control, cleaning, fire protection, security control systems, hydraulic services, and approved contractor works.
• Always Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) best practices.
• Assist with stock control and supplier coordination to maintain efficient operations.
• Support in preparing quotes and scheduling maintenance tasks, including minor Capex works.
• Work closely with the Hotel Manager to support the recruitment and development of the Maintenance team.

Shift Details (subject to change):

• Monday to Friday
• 6:30am start time (flexible for the right candidate)
• Afterhours caretaker on site – weekend/afterhours calls may be required on an ad hoc basis

Qualifications

The successful applicant will have:

• Previous hands-on Maintenance or Facilities experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Experience supervising or supporting team members within a maintenance team.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
• A relevant trade or building qualification will be highly regarded.
• Experience liaising and coordinating with Contractors.
• Sound MS Office skills (including Excel spreadsheets and Word documents).
• A passion for delivering exceptional, pro-active service.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with impeccable presentation.
