Job summary

Silverchain is hiring a Home Care Worker to support older members of the community in Melton and surrounding suburbs. The role involves in-home care tasks, driving to client homes, and providing social support to improve wellbeing. Training opportunities and career development are available.

Qualifications

• 3–6 months previous experience in a similar role
• Interest in community care or aged care
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence and insured vehicle
• Cert 3 accelerated learning program mentioned in ad

Job description

It takes a special person to be a Home Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their home and enhance their wellbeing. We are looking for just that person to join the Silverchain team in Melton and surrounding suburbs.

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (3 - 6 months previous experience in a similar role).

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services, such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds

• Meal preparation and grocery shopping
• Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
