Job summary

Goodwin is seeking a Home Care Support Worker to provide compassionate care to older clients in their own homes across Moruya and surrounding areas. You will follow personalised care plans, assist with daily activities, and support independence while maintaining dignity and safety.

You will document care activities, communicate with clients and families, and collaborate with the recruitment team to ensure high-quality service in line with Goodwin policies and the Aged Care Quality Standards.

Qualifications

• Australian Driver’s License, reliable vehicle required.
• Strong communication skills with clients, families and team members.
• Flexibility to multitask and adapt to different client needs and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide Personalised Care: assist clients with daily activities including personal care, housekeeping, shopping and transport.
• Promote Independence: support clients to live on their own terms and maintain wellbeing.
• Medication Assistance: administer medications per policies and training (where applicable).
• Complete Essential Documentation: maintain accurate care records and report incidents promptly.
• Provide Support and Companionship: offer a caring, respectful presence to clients.

As a Home Care Support Worker, you’ll provide compassionate, high-quality care and support to our valued elderly clients in their own homes, helping them live safely, independently and with dignity. You’ll follow personalised care plans, empower clients to maintain their independence, and deliver support that reflects their individual needs and preferences.

You’ll also be responsible for managing tasks efficiently, maintaining accurate and timely documentation, and communicating with clients, families and colleagues in a warm, respectful and professional manner. All care must be delivered in accordance with the Aged Care Quality Standards, Goodwin policies and procedures, and our commitment to protecting client privacy, dignity and wellbeing.

What You’ll Do

• Provide Personalised Care: Assist clients with daily activities such as personal care, housekeeping, shopping, and transport.

• Medication Assistance: Administer medications as per Goodwin’s policies and training (once completed).
• Complete Essential Documentation: Ensure all care records are accurately maintained and report any incidents or issues to management promptly.
• Provide Support and Companionship: Offer a caring, respectful, and understanding presence for clients, ensuring they feel safe and valued.

What We’re Looking For

• Australian Driver’s License & Reliable Vehicle: You must have your own vehicle with full registration and insurance.
• Relevant Qualifications: A Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care/Home and Community Care) or similar is highly desirable. If not already completed, you must be willing to attain it within the terms of your agreement.
• Experience in Care: Previous experience in aged care or community support is a plus, though not essential.
• Strong Communication Skills: You must be comfortable interacting with a wide range of people, from clients to team members and families.
• Flexibility & Adaptability: The ability to multitask and adapt to various client needs and schedules is key.
