Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland’s FaDS team is recruiting a Child and Family Practitioner to deliver home-based intervention services, focusing on vulnerable children and families in Queensland. You’ll provide holistic, therapeutic support within the Family Intervention Service to promote safety and family stability.

The role emphasizes case management, parental guidance, and collaboration with safeguarding frameworks, with flexible work arrangements and a strong commitment to child safety and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant human services field with relevant experience.
• Registration with a nationally recognised professional body is desirable where relevant.
• Demonstrated skills and knowledge in working with children and families.
• Ability to achieve results through personal proficiency and deliver high-quality professional work.
• Experience in child protection is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to vulnerable children, young people and families within the Family Intervention Service (FIS) with high-quality, best-practice approaches.
• Deliver holistic and therapeutic responses to families involved in the child protection system.
• Provide intensive support to help reunify children with families or support parental factors under agreements.
• Work within a home-based intervention framework including case management and therapeutic intervention.
