Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland’s FaDS team seeks a skilled Child and Family Case Worker for the Intensive Family Support Service in Toowoomba. You’ll lead case management, provide therapeutic and in-home support, and work to keep children safe while achieving family goals.

The role requires a relevant degree, at least 2 years in case management, and knowledge of domestic violence, attachment theory, and trauma-informed practice. A Blue Card and Queensland driver’s licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or Human Services.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in case management and child protection with families.
• Knowledge of Domestic Family Violence and impact on children.
• Understanding of First Nations peoples, cultures and society.
• Commitment to culturally safe practice.
• Knowledge in Attachment Theory, Trauma-informed practice and child development.
• Current Blue Card (QLD Working with Children Check).
• Current open QLD driver’s licence.
• Eligibility to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Lead case management with families in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment to identify and prioritise concerns.
• Provide a mix of therapeutic and in-home practical care to support complex, vulnerable families.
• Actively engage, assess and develop collaborative case plans to prioritise families’ presenting concerns.
