Job summary

The Lakes Resort Cairns, a premium resort in Cairns North, seeks a Reservations / Holiday Letting Manager to lead front-end guest experiences and oversee the holiday letting pool. You will work with a Trust Portfolio Administrator to ensure booking data accuracy and smooth operations across RMS Cloud.

Ideal candidates bring experience in management or senior reservations roles within hospitality or real estate, with strong leadership, communication, and RMS Cloud familiarity.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Queensland Real Estate Salesperson Registration Certificate or be willing to obtain it before starting.
• Experience in a management, supervisory, or senior reservations role within resort, hotel, or real estate.
• Proficiency with property management/operations software and OTA reservation handling strategies.

Responsibilities

About Us: The Lakes Resort Cairns is a premium 11-hectare tropical resort located in the heart of Cairns North. We provide exceptional resort accommodation and manage a large-scale holiday letting pool, alongside permanent rentals across 17 body corporates and stratas within our vibrant complex.

The Role: Are you an aspiring property professional ready to take the next step in your career, or an established manager looking for a new challenge? We are seeking a motivated Reservations / Holiday Letting Manager to oversee our high-volume booking operations and holiday letting pool. In this position, you will drive reservation strategies, oversee the daily pulse of the resort, and focus heavily on the front-end guest experience.

While our dedicated Trust Portfolio Administrator handles the heavy lifting of the backend financials and compliance, you will work closely with them to ensure all booking and operational data is accurate and up to date for smooth processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the daily operations of the holiday letting pool, taking ownership of the guest experience and acting as the senior point of contact for escalated inquiries and long-term letting leads.

• Liaise and communicate directly with incoming guests, managing the daily check-in and check-out process to ensure a welcoming and seamless guest experience.

• Process and oversee all incoming direct, corporate, and OTA (Booking.com, Expedia, etc.) reservations accurately through RMS Cloud.

• Manage daily dynamic rates across all booking channels to maximize yield and revenue.

• Create targeted advertising opportunities and arrange promotional specials to drive bookings and maintain high occupancy.

• Oversee guest accounts and billing, ensuring all guests are paying and payments are collected and reconciled accurately.

• Ensure all guest profiles, booking details, and system data remain accurate and up to date, supporting the Trust Portfolio Administrator who manages the core backend trust accounting workflows.

• Act as the central operational hub for the resort, coordinating daily schedules and dispatching tasks to the housekeeping and maintenance teams using the RMS platform.

• Generate weekly occupancy and arrival reports to assist operational departments with forecasting and resource allocation.

• Drive continuous improvement in front-end property operations while ensuring alignment with body corporate and letting regulations.

Requirements:

• Qualifications: You must hold at least a current Queensland Real Estate Salesperson Registration Certificate. If you do not currently hold this, you must be willing to obtain it prior to commencement.

• Previous experience in a management, supervisory, or senior reservations role within a resort, hotel, or real estate environment, or a strong foundation in these areas with the drive to step up into management.

• Proficiency in property management or operations software, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with RMS Cloud.

• Working knowledge of major Online Travel Agencies and reservation handling strategies.

• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a proactive, hands-on approach to team collaboration.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle competing tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
