Job summary

Great Adventures Reef & Green Island tours in Cairns, QLD, is seeking a Reservations Supervisor to lead the reservations team and ensure exceptional guest experiences. Reporting to the Reservations Manager, you will supervise daily operations, manage rosters, ensure booking accuracy, handle guest enquiries, and resolve issues promptly while keeping up-to-date on products, pricing and promotions.

• Minimum of 2 years in reservations within the hotel or tourism sector.
• Experience with Respax and RMS is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise reservations team, provide guidance, training and mentoring to ensure high levels of performance and service delivery.
• Coordinate and manage staff rosters to ensure effective coverage during peak periods, adjusting as required in line with operational needs and employee availability.
• Maintain attention to detail to ensure booking accuracy and data integrity to minimise errors and ensure operational efficiency.
• Manage guest enquiries and feedback courteously, timely and effectively, resolving concerns to guest satisfaction.
• Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve booking issues, discrepancies, and system errors promptly.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all products, services, pricing and promotions to support the team and respond to queries.

About the role

Working closely with the Reservations Manager, your key responsibilities will involve:

• Supporting the day-to-day supervision of the reservations team, providing guidance, training and mentoring to ensure high levels of performance and service delivery
• Coordinating and managing staff rosters to ensure effective coverage during peak periods, adjusting as required in line with operational needs and employee availability
• Maintaining exceptional attention to detail to ensure booking accuracy anddata integrity to minimise errors and ensure operational efficiency
• Managing guest enquiries and feedback in a courteous, timely and effective manner, ensuring all concerns are resolved in accordance with company guidelines and to the guest’s full satisfaction
• Applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve booking issues, discrepancies, and system errors in a timely and effective manner
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all products, services, pricing and promotions to effectively support the team and respond to customer queries

About you

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in reservations within the hotel or tourism sector (desirable)
• Experience with Respax tour booking system and/or RMS property management System an advantage (desirable)
• Strong cash handling and reconciliation skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with both external guests and internal teams
• Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating sound decision-making and the capacity to assess situations and make balanced decisions within established guidelines
• Ability to work rotationalshifts across a 7-day operation, with varying start and finish times between the hours of6:30am and 6:00pm, including rotational weekend days and public holidays as required
