Job summary

Equipment & Lifting Solutions – Sandgate, QLD is seeking a proactive Hire Controller to manage daily hire bookings, dispatch coordination, and customer enquiries in a fast-paced yard and office environment. You will be the primary contact for contractors, ensuring equipment arrives on site on schedule, with strong organisation and communication to support workshop teams and maintain fleet readiness.

Qualifications

• Industry Background: Demonstrated experience within the plant hire, access/EWP, or equipment rental industry is highly desirable
• Systems: Hands-on experience with Latner Hire Software (or equivalent equipment rental management platforms) is highly regarded
• Communication: Clear, professional verbal and written customer service skills with a solutions-oriented mindset
• Organization: Ability to handle shifting logistics priorities calmly under tight morning dispatch schedules
• Logistics Acumen: Familiarity with heavy transport coordination and machinery transport requirements

Responsibilities

• Process inbound hire requests via phone and email from quote through to invoice
• Coordinate logistics, transport scheduling, and dispatch/return of EWPs and access equipment
• Manage fleet utilization, off-hires, and swap-outs using hire management software
• Communicate with workshop and service teams regarding fleet readiness, tagging, and maintenance
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and other EWP hire service providers
