Job summary

Transit Systems NSW is seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team and keep buses in top condition. You will perform timely repairs, follow service schedules, conduct fleet inspections and handle on-road breakdowns to ensure a safe, reliable fleet.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic, MVIRA qualifications, and MR or HR licence (or willingness to obtain).

Qualifications

• Experience as Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic.
• Relevant MVIRA qualifications.
• MR or HR driver’s licence, or willingness to obtain one.
• Adherence to health and safety standards.
• Ability to complete pre-inspections for RMS compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform timely repairs to keep buses road-ready.
• Follow service schedules for minor and major servicing.
• Conduct fleet inspections to meet RMS compliance.
• Handle on-road breakdowns and diagnose issues.

Your Role:

As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you'll:

• Perform Timely Repairs:Ensure buses are road-ready and drivers have a reliable vehicle.
• Follow Service Schedules:Manage minor and major services and vehicle inspections.
• Conduct Fleet Inspections:Ensure our fleet meets RMS compliance and is ready for passenger use.
• Handle On-Road Breakdowns:Fix issues from damaged mirrors to brake problems.

What You Bring:

• Experience:Demonstrated work experience as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic.
• Qualifications:Relevant trade qualifications (MVIRA).
• Licenses:MR or HR driver’s license, or willingness to obtain one.
• Safety First:Adherence to health and safety standards.
• Inspection Skills:Ability to complete pre-inspections for RMS compliance.
