Job summary

Transdev John Holland Buses NSW is seeking qualified bus mechanics to maintain and repair vehicles at Randwick Depot. You will diagnose faults, perform road tests, and support apprentices while upholding fleet standards and safety.

The role includes opportunities to work with new EV technology and participate in ongoing training. Ideal candidates hold NSW MVTC and TAFE certificates, a current HR licence, and strong computer skills.

Qualifications

• Current NSW MVTC Motor Mechanic Trade Certificate (essential).
• TAFE Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (essential).
• Current HR Driver Licence, or the ability to obtain one.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Experience supervising or mentoring apprentices and trade assistants.
• Experience using diagnostic scan tools (desirable).
• Experience in bus maintenance and public transport operations (desirable).

Responsibilities

Full‑time Position Details

This is a full-time position based at our Randwick Depot, offering an attractive hourly rate of $46.7505 per hour (inclusive of industry allowance) + shift allowances, overtime opportunities, a monthly RDO and free public transport across Sydney.

What You Will Do

What You Bring

Experience & Qualifications

• Total remuneration package $103,464.48 (inclusive of superannuation).
• Additional payments for shift allowance and overtime.
• EBA pay increases scheduled for January 2027 and January 2028.

Hours of work

Following an initial training period on day shift, you will move to a fortnightly rotating roster that includes weekend work.

• Day Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm
• Mid Shift: 10:30am - 7:00pm (15% shift allowance applies for the entire shift)
• Afternoon Shift: 2:30pm - 11:00pm (15% shift allowance applies for the entire shift)
