Job summary

WorkPac is hiring for a pre-delivery inspection role on brand-new Komatsu mining and construction equipment, onsite at the workshop. You will perform mechanical inspections, assemble and inspect engines, hydraulics and driveline components, and ensure readiness for customer delivery.

Be a trade qualified diesel fitter with experience on heavy machinery. Forklift/EWP/Dogging tickets are desirable, and a pre-employment medical and drug screen is required. Immediate start on a long-term project.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified diesel fitter.
• Experience completing the duties listed.
• Experience working on Komatsu, Caterpillar, Hitachi, Volvo or Liebherr is highly desirable.
• Forklift, EWP and Dogging tickets are highly desirable.
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen.

Responsibilities

• Complete mechanical pre-delivery inspections and commissioning of new mining and construction equipment prior to customer handover.
• Assemble, install and inspect diesel engines, hydraulic systems, undercarriage components, driveline systems, attachments and other major machine components.
• Conduct detailed mechanical checks, measurements and adjustments to identify defects, leaks, faults or assembly issues in accordance with Komatsu specifications.
• Carry out functional testing and machine operation checks, including hydraulic, braking, steering, cooling and drivetrain systems, to ensure equipment performs to specification.
• Rectify mechanical faults, complete repairs and final adjustments identified during PDI testing, ensuring machinery is safe, reliable and ready for customer delivery.

Day: 5:00am 1:06pm (Monday to Friday) Saturday shift also available

What You Will Be Doing

You will be working as part of the pre-delivery inspection team. You will complete the below duties on various construction and mining equipment before its shipped to clients/customers. The equipment is brand new and is assembled on site. Your main duties will include the following:
