Job summary

UNSW is seeking a Senior Health & Safety Advisor - Management Systems to lead the design, implementation and ongoing improvement of the Health & Safety Management System across the university. You will partner with stakeholders to drive governance, risk and data-driven decision making, ensuring ISO 45001 alignment and conformance with industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience in health and safety.
• Experience developing, implementing and improving Health & Safety Management Systems in large/complex organisations.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, ISO 45001 and best practice.
• Experience with health and safety data management, analytics, reporting and dashboards.
• Ability to interpret complex requirements into practical, user-friendly processes and documentation.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, maintenance and continuous improvement of UNSW's Health & Safety Management Systems and tools.
• Drive ongoing alignment with ISO 45001 principles and industry best practice.
• Enhance health and safety reporting, analytics, dashboards and data governance for quality insights.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify digital transformation opportunities across systems and processes.
• Provide expert advice on safety legislation, risk, governance and assurance requirements.
• Support complex incident investigations, risk assessments and corrective actions.
• Monitor enterprise risk trends and strengthen risk controls and performance.
• Coordinate audits, assurance activities and regulatory engagement as needed.
• Coach leaders to strengthen risk management and safety outcomes.
• Integrate physical and psychosocial risk management across functions.
