Established Developer-Builder | Two Projects | Growing Construction Pipeline
The Opportunity
An established, family-owned construction business is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to oversee health, safety and environmental compliance across two residential construction projects in Sydney.
With over 40 years in the industry, this business has built a strong reputation delivering its own developments and is now expanding into the head contractor market, with several significant projects secured and a growing pipeline of work.
This is a hands-on opportunity to join a close-knit construction team where relationships, accountability and a practical approach to safety are genuinely valued.
Working closely with Site Managers, project teams and senior leadership, you will take ownership of day-to-day safety across both projects, ensuring compliance while helping to build a positive and proactive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee HSE compliance and day-to-day safety activities across two active construction sites.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety walks, audits and risk assessments.
- Review and manage SWMS, JSAs, high-risk work documentation and subcontractor compliance.
- Coordinate site inductions, toolbox talks and pre-start meetings.
- Identify potential hazards and implement practical corrective actions.
- Manage incident reporting, investigations and follow-up actions.
- Maintain HSE registers, site documentation and compliance records.
- Work closely with Site Managers and subcontractors to promote safe working practices.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of company safety systems and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant WHS legislation, regulations and company policies.
About You
- Previous experience as an HSE Advisor, Safety Advisor or WHS Coordinator within construction.
- Experience working across residential, mixed-use or commercial construction projects.
- Background with a head contractor or developer-builder highly regarded.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or relevant qualifications.
- Strong understanding of NSW WHS legislation, construction safety requirements and high-risk activities.
- Confident managing safety across multiple sites and prioritising competing demands.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with subcontractors and site teams.
- A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach to safety.
