Job summary

Morson Edge in Sydney is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to take ownership of site safety on a landmark high-rise mixed-use project, collaborating with an established project team. You will drive safety culture, conduct inspections, review SWMS and risk assessments, deliver inductions and toolbox talks, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with NSW WHS laws across all construction stages.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a safety advisor in construction
• Strong understanding of NSW WHS legislation and construction safety systems
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence site teams and drive safety outcomes

Responsibilities

• Drive site safety standards and promote a proactive safety culture
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety observations
• Review SWMS, risk assessments and project safety documentation
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes and implement corrective actions
• Work with Site Managers and subcontractors to manage safety risks
• Provide practical WHS advice across all stages of construction
• Monitor compliance with NSW WHS legislation and project requirements

Key Responsibilities

Skills & Experience

• 5+ year's experience as a safety advisor in construction
• Strong high-rise commercial building experience, ideally across complex or large-scale projects
• Experience managing high-risk construction activities and working closely with subcontractors
• Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety, or equivalent qualification
• Strong understanding of NSW WHS legislation, construction safety systems and risk management
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence site teams and drive positive safety outcomes
