Job summary

Davies Ross Consulting Pty Ltd – Sydney CBD NSW is seeking an experienced H&S Advisor to join a major 300+ unit residential project. This hands-on site role reports to a Senior H&S Manager with a well-resourced safety team.

The role involves active site safety and environmental compliance, including SWMS/SDS/JSA reviews, inductions, inspections, hazard identification and incident investigations. Australian experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in construction safety/WHS.
• Diploma, Cert IV or relevant qualification in WHS/OHS.
• Residential or major commercial construction experience preferred.
• Hammertech experience would be highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of SWMS, risk assessments and subcontractor compliance.
• Confident dealing with trades and subcontractors.
• Strong communication skills.
• Practical and solutions-focused approach to safety.
• Must have experience working in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and approving SWMS, SDS, JSA and environmental documentation.
• Managing staff inductions and contractor onboarding through Hammertec.
• Conducting regular site safety and environmental inspections.
• Identifying hazards and ensuring corrective actions are closed out.
• Assisting with incident investigations and reporting.
• Maintaining safety documentation, risk assessments and incident registers.
• Monitoring waste management, pollution control and environmental requirements.
• Working closely with subcontractors, Site Managers and the wider project team.
• Driving a positive and proactive safety culture across site.

A genuinely strong opportunity for an experienced H&S Advisor to join one of Sydney's most established privately owned builder, working on a major 300+ apartment residential project.

This is a well-resourced project, where you will work closely with and report into an experienced Senior H&S Manager, rather than being left to manage the entire safety function on your own.
