Job summary

Parkview Constructions is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to improve safety culture across our Sydney projects. You will work closely with the Site Manager and WHS&E Manager, providing practical advice and supporting teams to enhance safety outcomes on site.

The role requires a Cert IV or Diploma in WHS/OHS and at least 5 years of post-qualification construction experience, including high-rise or commercial schemes valued at $50M+.

• Cert IV or Diploma in WHS/OHS is required.
• Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in construction.
• Experience on high-rise residential or commercial projects ($50M+).

Responsibilities

• Implement and coordinate WHS&E Management System on site.
• Provide practical WHS&E advice, coaching and mentoring to site teams.
• Manage and review WHS&E plans, risk assessments and ERPs.
• Act as site contact for Hammertech and follow up actions.
• Facilitate toolbox talks and safety committees.
• Lead investigations into injuries and near misses; identify improvements.
• Review and update WHS&E procedures and documentation.
• Support compliance with legislation and Parkview policies.
• Identify risks and promote a strong safety culture.

Job description

Parkview Constructions is looking for an experienced Safety Advisor to join our team and play a key role in creating a positive, proactive safety culture across our projects.

Founded in 1997, Parkview is a multi-award-winning construction company with more than 180 employees and a strong pipeline of residential and commercial projects across Sydney.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being on site, building strong relationships with project teams and having a genuine influence on safety outcomes. Working closely with the Site Manager and WHS&E Manager, you will provide practical advice, support our teams and drive the ongoing improvement of our WHS&E systems.

About the role

Reporting to the Site Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Implementing and coordinating Parkview's WHS&E Management System on site.
• Providing practical WHS&E advice, coaching and mentoring to site and project teams.
• Managing and reviewing WHS&E plans, including Project Risk Assessments and Emergency Response Plans.
• Acting as the key site contact for Hammertech, Parkview's online WHS&E platform, and following up outstanding actions.
• Facilitating effective consultation, including pre-starts, toolbox meetings and safety committees.
• Providing practical advice and solutions to site and project personnel on health, safety and environmental matters.
• Leading investigations into injuries, incidents and near misses and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Reviewing and updating WHS&E procedures, templates and documentation.
• Supporting compliance with relevant legislation, standards and Parkview policies.
• Working with site teams to identify risks, improve safety practices and maintain a strong safety culture.

What we're looking for

• Cert IV or Diploma in WHS/OHS.
• Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in a construction environment.
• Proven experience working on high-rise residential or commercial projects valued at $50M+.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work with site teams, project managers and senior leaders.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to safety.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.
• The ability to influence and engage people at all levels rather than simply focus on compliance.
