Acquainted Talent has been engaged by a well-established engineering specialist to appoint a Health & Safety Manager. This is a broad, standalone role with genuine ownership of the Health & Safety function across a geographically dispersed operation, reporting to the General Manager and partnering with senior leaders, operational managers and field-based staff.

• Experience in construction, engineering or infrastructure.

Responsabilités

• Providing practical Health & Safety advice to managers and employees.
• Conducting site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
• Leading incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Coordinating employee health surveillance and medical compliance.
• Supporting safety training, consultation and engagement initiatives.
• Maintaining ISO-certified management systems and coordinating audits.
• Reviewing policies, procedures, SWMS and risk documentation.

Acquainted Talent has been engaged by a well-established engineering specialist to appoint a Health & Safety Manager.

This is a broad, standalone position offering genuine ownership of the Health & Safety function across a geographically dispersed operational business. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will partner with senior leaders, operational managers and field-based employees to deliver practical safety outcomes.

The organisation already has established systems and certified management frameworks in place. The focus is on maintaining what works, strengthening consistency and implementing considered improvements.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Providing practical Health & Safety advice to managers and employees
• Conducting site inspections, audits and risk assessments
• Leading incident investigations and corrective actions
• Coordinating employee health surveillance and medical compliance
• Supporting safety training, consultation and engagement initiatives
• Maintaining ISO-certified management systems and coordinating audits
• Reviewing policies, procedures, SWMS and risk documentation

The role is based in North Sydney and will involve periodic interstate and NZ travel.

About You

You will be an experienced Health & Safety professional who is comfortable operating independently and taking ownership of a broad function.

You will ideally bring:

• Experience in construction, engineering or infrastructure (or related)
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management
• Exposure to ISO-certified management systems
• The ability to influence both frontline employees and senior leaders
• A practical, collaborative and people-focused approach
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
