Job summary

Blackbook Executive Pty seeks an experienced Health, Safety & Environment leader to own HSE across projects, operations and field-based service activities. You will partner with project managers, site leaders and frontline teams to drive a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with Australian legislation.

The role involves leading audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and training, plus contributing to ISO-based management systems and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Proven HSE leadership experience in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of Australian HSE legislation and standards.
• Experience with ISO-based management systems (ISO 45001/14001/9001).
• Visible leadership style with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong incident investigation, risk management and audit capability.
• Willingness to travel nationally.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operational, project and service teams to provide practical HSE coaching and guidance.
• Drive implementation and continuous improvement of integrated HSE management systems.
• Lead site audits, inspections and compliance activities across multiple locations.
• Facilitate risk assessments, hazard identification and control implementation.
• Coordinate incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are embedded.
• Support injury management and return-to-work processes.
• Deliver HSE training and toolbox talks across sites.
• Promote a positive safety culture aligned with global HSE standards.
• Monitor legislative changes and support compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs.

The Opportunity

This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving a proactive, practical and collaborative safety culture across a diverse national operation. Working closely with project managers, operational leaders, service teams and frontline employees, you will provide hands-on HSE leadership, ensure compliance with legislative and corporate requirements, and support the ongoing development of systems, processes and performance across multiple sites and project environments.

Background

To be successfull in this opportunity, you will have the following:

• Proven HSE leadership experience within manufacturing, engineering, industrial services, project environments or similarly complex operational settings.
• Strong working knowledge of Australian HSE legislation, regulations and standards.
• Experience working with ISO-based management systems, including ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
• A practical, visible leadership style with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
• Strong incident investigation, risk management and audit capability.
