Job summary

Perigon Group is recruiting Head of Operations to lead People, Supply Chain and Transformation. This office-based role combines leadership with a hands-on, strategic approach to scale the operation while maintaining close team involvement.

You'll direct a lean, office-based team across multiple functions, drive digital transformation, optimise working capital, and report to the CFO. A 1-day WFH arrangement complements a full-time in-office setup in Sydney.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as a people leader coaching and developing managers.
• Experience leading across multiple operational functions and teams.
• Strong communication to build trust and influence at leadership level.
• Experience guiding organisations through change and transformation.
• History with major system implementations or rollouts.
• Strategic mindset with hands-on capability to work in detail.
• Operational experience in supply chain, logistics, or 3PL.

Head of Operations | People, Supply Chain & Transformation

$180-200K + Super + Bonus

About the Role

Our client is a well-established, growing distribution business, and this newly created Operations Manager role sits right at the centre of that growth.

This isn't your traditional supply chain or warehouse role, our client doesn't run its own warehouse. Instead, you'll lead a lean, office-based team across multiple operational functions through a period of significant growth and change.

While a genuine working understanding of logistics and supply chain is essential, this role is first and foremost about leadership. They're looking for someone who knows how to get the best out of people – an approachable, credible leader who develops their team, builds trust and is someone people naturally turn to for guidance and support.

You’ll need to be comfortable leading across different functions and personalities, bringing people with you through change and remaining genuinely hands-on and close to the team, while still thinking strategically about how the operation can scale.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead, coach and develop a team across customer success, customer service, supply chain and technology functions, creating a high-performing and collaborative environment
• Be a visible, approachable leader who stays close to the day-to-day operation, supporting your managers and team rather than simply directing from above
• Lead people through change, creating buy-in as new processes, systems and ways of working are introduced
• Drive process improvement and digital transformation, including automation and AI - experience with, or a genuine interest in, using AI agents and automation to remove manual work is a real plus
• Bring structure, accountability and continuous improvement to a growing, fast-moving operation
• Own end-to-end supply chain management, including the 3PL relationship (DHL), procurement and inventory, with a focus on optimising working capital
• Drive down freight and logistics costs through competitive tendering and rate benchmarking
• Oversee order-to-delivery performance, resolving service issues and improving order accuracy and on-time delivery
• Act as the key operational link between the leadership team, internal functions and external partners, reporting directly to the CFO
• Help shape a newly created function, balancing immediate operational priorities with how the business needs to operate as it continues to grow

What You’ll Bring

• A strong track record as a people leader – someone who has genuinely coached, developed and supported managers and teams, not simply managed their output
• Experience leading across multiple operational functions, teams or disciplines
• The credibility and communication skills to build trust with your team while also influencing at leadership level
• Demonstrated experience leading people successfully through change
• Experience with a significant system implementation, transformation or rollout
• A strategic mindset paired with a genuine willingness to roll your sleeves up and get into the detail
• Strong operational knowledge across supply chain, logistics, inventory and/or 3PL environments
• A tech-forward mindset, with comfort around or genuine curiosity about AI, automation and new technology
• Salesforce experience is a bonus
