Job summary

MPAU Human Resources is partnering with a technology-enabled Australian business to recruit an experienced HR leader who will own the HR function, strengthen its foundations and drive the next phase of growth.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you’ll lead an established HR team, build capability, embed new ways of working including AI and digital transformation, and scale processes to enable proactive people practices across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading HR teams in medium to large organisations.
• Experience with growth, transformation, M&A or complex change environments.
• Strong employee and workplace relations capability.
• Experience operating in regulated/compliance-focused environments.
• Autonomous and highly accountable leadership style.
• Ability to prioritise, work autonomously and drive outcomes.
• Curious and enthusiastic about AI and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the HR team with clear direction, accountability and capability uplift.
• Strengthen HR operations, governance and compliance frameworks.
• Drive continuous improvement across policies, procedures and people practices.
• Partner with senior leaders on workforce planning, organisational capability and business priorities.
• Provide guidance on complex employee and industrial relations matters.
• Support organisational change, growth initiatives and business transformation projects.
• Use technology and data to improve efficiency and decision making across the people function.
• Act as a senior escalation point and trusted advisor to the business.
