Job summary

imei Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead the financial operations in a growing Australian technology and telecommunications business, based in Sydney. The role blends hands-on accounting with strategic input, partnering with senior leaders to drive profitability, cash flow and sustainable growth.

You will own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, statutory reporting, and Board-ready financials, while developing KPIs and exploring AI-enabled process improvements.

Qualifications

• CPA/CA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Extensive financial and management accounting experience in a commercial setting.
• Proven budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management and performance analysis.
• Solid knowledge of Australian taxation, statutory reporting and compliance.
• Experience coordinating financial statements and board-level reporting.
• Leadership of a Finance team with coaching and development.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience leveraging automation/AI to improve processes.
• Working knowledge of NetSuite is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day financial operations of the business.
• Manage cash flow, forecasting and liquidity.
• Oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and payroll.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L and balance sheet.
• Coordinate annual financial statements with external accountants.
• Develop and monitor financial KPIs for leadership.
• Support strategic decision-making with commercial insights.
• Continuously improve finance processes, controls and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to apply automation and AI in finance.
