Job summary

Journey Beyond is seeking a Head Chef for Monarto Safari Resort to support the Executive Chef and lead a busy kitchen across multiple services near Adelaide. This role demands strong leadership, meticulous kitchen management and a commitment to exceptional guest dining experiences.

You will drive quality, hygiene and cost controls while mentoring the kitchen team and collaborating with front-of-house to deliver outstanding service in a luxurious setting.

Qualifications

• Previous Head Chef or strong Senior Sous Chef experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Good understanding of food and labour costs.
• Passionate about quality food and team development.
• Calm and confident in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on leadership style and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily kitchen operations across multiple services.
• Manage, train and develop the kitchen team.
• Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Manage ordering, stock control, food costs and waste.
• Support menu development and seasonal changes.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene and WHS compliance.
• Work closely with FOH to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Manage kitchen organisation, preparation and service standards.
